Candle will be placed before Icon of Holy Venerable Paraskeva of Toplovsk (Crimea) (+1928) – Icon with a piece of her relic.
At an early age, St. Paraskeva became a nun, noted for her prayerfulness, ascetism, and intelligence. For 38 years, she faithfully and with great wisdom served as the abbess of the Toplovskiy Woman’s Monastery in Crimea. She defended her monastery and the nuns against the attacks from the Soviet authorities throughout the 1920’s. She reposed shortly after the forcible closure of the monastery in 1928. We ask St. Paraskeva to pray for us that our faith may be strengthened, that we may persevere through difficulties and that we may offer fruitful and humble prayers to God.
