Candle will be placed before the Icon of the Resurrection of Christ or Festal Icon of the current feast in the center of the Church.

On the third day after the Crucifixion of Christ, the Holy Myrrh-bearing women came to the tomb and saw an Angel who said unto them “He (Christ) is not hear; for He is risen, as he said. Come see the pace where the Lord lay” (Matthew 28: 6). The Resurrection Icon is placed in the center of the church every Sunday, the Day of Resurrection to commemorate the joyous Pascha of our Lord, the defeat of death and victory of Life. We place our candles here to worship Christ and ask that He raise us up from the gloom of sin and to deliver us from temptation and spiritual death.

Also, on major feast days, the icon of the feast being celebrated is placed in the center of the church.
