Candle will be placed before Icon of Blessed Ksenia of Petersburg (+1800) – Icon with a piece of her marble tomb.
At the age of 26, St. Ksenia was childless and a young widow. She gave away all her earthly possessions to the poor and dedicated her life to prayer and fasting, always praying for the repose of her husband and for anyone who asked for her help. Year round she lived on the streets of St. Petersburg, Russia as a “fool-for-Christ”, helping anyone who came to her. We place candles here, asking for her prayerful assistance in our marriages and family life.
